Snow Again! Will it continue?

Spanish Fork, UT

Over the past two days it has been snowing off and on between the Great Salt Lake and Spanish Fork.

When we did our last report on snowy weather we checked weather.com which said that over the next few weeks had a precipitation percentage of %0-%20 and we did not get any snow for several weeks after that.

Still the question on most peoples mind now is either "Will this snowy weather continue", "Will the snow continue to come in bursts every now and than" and "Is this going to be the last snow of the season?

Car Crash north of Adobe

One of our reporters was heading home along I-15 when they saw several Police cars and a Tow Truck.

After passing by it was concluded by our reporter that one car had rear-ended another.

WILD DRIVERS EXCEED SPEED LIMIT

One of our reporters was driving past a school when a silverado passed a red pick-up truck in the school zone going across the double yellow lines at about about 50 M.P.H. breaking the 25 M.P.H. speed limit.

Custodian saves Student Lunch-worker from Folding Table

    Today at Sierra Bonita Elementary a Heroic Custodian saved a Student lunch worker from a unsecured table.

    The student was helping to put up the folding tables, but forgot to lock the table into place, with the result being that the table (Now estimates 6 feet high) was precariously perched when the school Custodian came and gently lowered the table and stopped it from falling on the Student.

Curiosity Closes in on its New 'Home'

With Mars looming ever larger in front of it, NASA's Mars Science Laboratory spacecraft and its Curiosity rover are in the final stages of preparing for entry, descent and landing on the Red Planet at 10:31 p.m. PDT Aug. 5 (1:31 a.m. EDT Aug. 6). Curiosity remains in good health with all systems operating as expected. Today, the flight team uplinked and confirmed commands to make minor corrections to the spacecraft's navigation reference point parameters. This afternoon, as part of the onboard sequence of autonomous activities leading to the landing, catalyst bed heaters are being turned on to prepare the eight Mars Lander Engines that are part of MSL's descent propulsion system. As of 2:25 p.m. PDT (5:25 p.m. EDT), MSL was approximately 261,000 miles (420,039 kilometers) from Mars, closing in at a little more than 8,000 mph (about 3,600 meters per second).

Excessive Rain floods parts of St. George

Just because it has been a dry winter and summer it doesn't mean that we can't still get some rain and we certainly got some Sunday and Monday. despite the fact that so far this is one of the drier summers in history the rainfall in the last 2 days has just been to much for some towns. FLASH FLOOD WARNING

The National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WARNING for North central Sanpete County, South Central Utah County, and east central Juab County. The warning will remain until 6:00 P.M.

FIESTA DAYS

Coming up soon is Spanish Forks "Fiesta Days". they Will be starting of with the local "Movie Night" on JULY 14.  This year the movie is "The Sandlot". It is at the local sports park starting at perhaps 9:00 or later depending on how dark it gets. For details click here. but there is more!

Unknown Incident at Spanish Fork Reservoir

Just a few Minutes ago one police car, one Ambulance, and one Search and Rescue truck went up Spanish Oaks Drive to the Spanish fork Reservoir. There current purpose is unknown. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

More Fires x2 - Water Conservation

Because of a fire last night that went across ,Interstate 15, it was closed .
In addition to the "Wood Hollow Fire" , "Church Camp Fire" and "Seeley Fire" there are several more.

Highway 89 is OPEN!

Firefighters up Spanish Fork Canyon have gotten some control on the "Church Camp Fire" and due to that Highway 89 is now OPEN.

Fairview and Birdseye residents allowed to return

Thanks to the winds dying down fire fighters were able to get control of the fire that caused Birdseye and Fairview to be evacuated and those who were evacuated were allowed to return home, however Highway 89 is now OPEN.

Smoke is settling

On Sunday there was a very large amount of smoke in the air as seen on our post at 6:00 A.M. today but thankfully the smoke looks like the majority has settled near the ground, so if you want cleaner air just go to a higher elevation. It is still smoky but there is less smoke up on the mountains that are not on fire.

With fires raging across Utah and smoke billowing out across sky's as well as a snow shortage this last winter this means that it is a early and dangerous fire season.

Fireflies in Utah

Fire-flies are VERY uncommon in the western united states so that means we normally don't have them in Utah, yet only a short time ago a Spanish Fork resident reported having seen strange lights in a field.

Air tanker crashed

With very large fires in southern utah fire departments are working hard. Unfourtunately a air tanker has crashed and it's pilot and co-pilot did not survive the crash.  Also the other air tankers that were fighting the blaze have been grounded.

We have received information from a trusted source that there was "a weird disk thing floating in the sky " and the trusted source also said "I also saw a whole bunch of leaves going up into the middle of it, even though there wasn't any wind". the trusted source also said they " think it might have either been a UFO or one of those experimental flying sausers the have been invented by the usa . the experimental things also have experimental tractor beams." this could be true and because it came from a trusted source we at Josh News Net have reason to believe it, however weather you do or not is entirely up to you.

Earthquakes, Tornados and Hail storms-crazy weather!!

colodado, nebraska, kansas, and oklahoma were under tornado watch on april 11 2012. Also 5.0-8.0 earthquakes were occuring across the globe. Not to make matters worse but there were confermed damaging tornados in california and puerto rico plus there was 5 feet of hail in texas. It seems very odd that all of this happened on april, 11, 2012 but it still happened.  I will try to find some links on it and put them below.
