An abnormal amount of water
is coming out of the Spillway Chute at the "Strawberry Water Hydro-Electric
Power Plant" located on Powerhouse Road in Spanish Fork
.We asked the person who helps manage the facility and we found out that the chute is a spillway that helps control the water level going into the water turbines of the power plant. We also found out that the reason the lower canal is filled to a higher water level is so the people using irrigation will have enough water to irrigate. So, the water rushing down the spillway chute is serving two purposes: to help manage the water flow going into the power generation turbines, and to help maintain enough volume of water for the irrigation channels
